“Hello! My name is Harriet and I’m the new English Fremdsprachenassistentin here at HVG. I come from a county called Lincolnshire in the East Midlands, just over an hour away from Nottingham. Similar to Lippe, it is largely made up of small countryside towns and villages, with Lincoln as its biggest city. My village consists of 800 inhabitants and I went to school in a small town about 25 minutes away, so the countryside here makes me feel very much at home!
I am currently a student at Durham University, located in a lovely city in the North of England. I chose to study German and Spanish because I loved German in school, I admire the ability to speak another language I really value cultural awareness. I’m here as part of my Year Abroad to immerse myself in the German language and culture, and to experience what it’s like to teach English as a Foreign Language. I’m so excited to be here at HVG and can’t wait to get to know everyone better, and hopefully help along the way 😊 “
